COVID-19 Affected Facilities and Programs

During Phase 4 mitigation of the State's Restore Illinois plan, the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District has made the following adaptations to facilities and services for the health of our community.

COVID Information

Stay Connected

  • Want to get up-to-date news about COVID-19 and how it affects your Park District? Sign up for our e-newsletter! The sign up form is located at the bottom of every webpage on our site. We also recommend you like us on Facebook!

  • Our parks will remain open during this health crisis. We believe that many parks, trails and open spaces can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide. If you visit one of our parks or trails, you must follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations of practicing safe physical distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance from others and staying home if you are sick.

  • Playgrounds are open with restrictions:

    • Limit groups to state limits, masks should be worn when safe physical distancing can't be maintained. Water fountains remain closed, so be sure to bring your own water and hand sanitizer. Clean hands before and after use. If you are sick or have symptoms, stay home and do not use playgrounds. Please click here to read the CDC's safety guidelines on playground use.

    • Outdoor areas generally require normal routine cleaning and do not require disinfection. Spraying disinfectant on sidewalks and in parks is not an efficient use of disinfectant supplies and has not been proven to reduce the risk of COVID-19 to the public. You should continue existing cleaning and hygiene practices for outdoor areas.

General Guidelines

  • The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District is committed to keep all community members safe during these uncertain times.

  • We will continue to implement regulations in correspondence with the CDC, IDPH, and the Ogle County Health department to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

  • At this time, groups activities must be limited to 25 people or less, including outdoor activities.

  • Inside facilities are limited to no more than 25 people, or 25% of capacity, whichever is fewer.

  • As a general guideline, all visitors and staff are required to wear a mask when entering our facilities and when social distancing of 6ft cannot be maintained.

  • Frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer is encouraged for all patrons.

  • If you are feeling ill and/or experiencing any symptoms, please stay home.

  • Exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering.

The REC Center

With the opening of a brand-new facility, we are so excited for members to enjoy all of the wonderful amenities at The REC. We want to ensure safety of staff, members, and the Rochelle Community, so we have implemented some regulations for the facility.

  • Online and Phone registration is encouraged, when possible.

  • We have provided hand sanitizer stations in all zones for patrons to utilize

  • We have eliminated unnecessary “high-touch” areas when possible.

We have also implemented zone-specific guidelines in the facility:
